“From Curiosity to Lasting Impact” — Discovery Days 2026 Research Microscopy Solutions Training

You are invited to the “Discovery Days 2026” event, organized in collaboration with İTÜ MOBGAM and ZEISS.

In this two-day training program, you will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and hands-on experience across a wide range of topics, from the fundamentals of light microscopy to confocal microscopy applications, as well as digital microscopy solutions and practical sample analysis.

Day 1 — May 8, 2026 (Friday) | 16:00 – 20:00
We will provide a comprehensive introduction to the world of microscopy through presentations by ZEISS experts:

• An overview from the history of microscopy to modern applications; fundamental concepts such as magnification, numerical aperture, and resolution
• Applications of different contrast techniques in life sciences, including phase contrast, brightfield, and fluorescence
• Fundamentals of confocal microscopy; multi-channel imaging, laser sources, optical sectioning, and 3D imaging
• Hands-on digital microscopy session: illumination techniques and the contribution of digital advancements to research

Day 2 — May 9, 2026 (Saturday) | 10:00 – 18:00
Hands-on training will be conducted in MOBGAM laboratories using various microscopy systems. Participants will gain practical experience in sample preparation and detailed microscopic analysis using biological samples from life sciences.

Location: MOBGAM, ITU Maslak Campus

Participation Fee: 5.000,00 ₺ (Limited to 25 participants. Payment receipts must be sent to sahinden@itu.edu.tr after payment. Additional details regarding the training will be shared via e-mail)
